What is eMACS?

eMACS, or Montana Acquisition & Contracting System, is the eProcurement software solution utilized by the State of Montana that provides vendor management services, bid and procurement processes, and contract management tools as well as the ability to track contract spend. The Department of Administration signed an enterprise-wide contract with SciQuest, Inc., a leader in public sector procurement and contract management solutions to provide the State with these vendor, procurement, and contract management tools.

eMACS consists of four modules:

  • Total Supplier Manager (TSM) (Vendor Management)
  • Sourcing Director(SD) (Bidding)
  • Total Contract Manager (TCM) (Contracts/Spend Tracking)
  • eProcurement (Shopping)

Accessing eMACS

All State of Montana employees will access eMACS via the State of Montana's ePass Montana website. Vendors can access the vendor portal and vendor training resources at this website: http://vendorresources.mt.gov/.

Need Help with ePass?

The ePass Montana website is maintained by the Department of Administration's State Information Technology Services Division (SITSD). If you are experiencing difficulties with or have questions regarding ePass contact SITSD's Service Desk at 444-2000.

eMACS 17.3 Release Upgrade

Information regarding Release 17.3 is available below. The eMACS Support Unit will be testing the release but it is advised that users test their business practices in the Test environment as well and report any issues (error messages, changes in functionality, etc.) to eMACS Support, emacs@mt.gov

Release Promotion: Test Site Unavailable

Beginning October 20, 2017, 6am MST

The 17.3 release will be promoted to the eMACS Test (usertest) environment from Friday, October 20, 2017, 6am MST through Sunday, October 22, 2017, 10am MST.

Release Validation in Test Environment

October 22, 2017 - November 10, 2017 (Three Weeks)

It is recommended that users perform testing of functionality critical to their business processes as soon as possible during this three-week period - ideally during the first week. If any issues are encountered, this will allow time for application adjustments and re-testing.

Draft Documentation: 17.3 Product Release Notes

Production Unavailable (Begin Release Upgrade)

Beginning November 10, 2017, 7pm MST through November 12, 2017, 10am MST

The 17.3 release will be promoted to the eMACS Production environment from Friday, November 10, 2017, 7pm MST through Sunday, November 12, 2017, 10am MST. An email will be sent out to eMACS users when the promotion is complete.
